Addressing mental health and improved safety measures in L Division

National Vice-President Lynette Robinson and three Islander DSAs met with Chief Superintendent Derek Santosuosso at the RCMP HQ in Charlottetown on September 16th.

Monique Bourgeois, Edward Smith and Christina Getson presented the Commanding Officer with the recommendations from the District Services Agents report commissioned by USJE. VP Robinson and the three members had the opportunity to discuss several important matters with Santosuosso including appropriate onboarding training, mental health awareness and improved safety conditions.

Derek Santosuosso is a 25-year veteran of the force who has served across Canada. He was promoted to this position on Prince Edward Island in the spring of 2022.

Vice-President Robinson plans to continue this essential outreach work with the RCMP across the Atlantic region over the coming months.
