Over the past year, FOS have told us that they urgently require:

  • Immediate safety training
  • More FOS in kitchens, and
  • Broken equipment to be fixed

National President David Neufeld meets with O Division RCMP

USJE National President David Neufeld met with senior Members of the RCMP in O Division alongside MP and Parliamentary Secretary to the Public Safety Minister Pam Damoff. The meeting’s focus was discussing the experiences of public service employees within O Division who provide crucial operational support for a range of activities from criminal investigations, intelligence gathering, case management, among other activities.

USJE Equity Conference: Together in Unity, Equity for All

The conference will be held January 31 to February 3, 2023, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Through diverse speakers we will explore what is being done, and what can be done to advance equity within USJE and the departments we represent.

Congratulations winners of our Let’s Get Social contest

Jo-Lynn Loyer, from Local 20141 in BC, won an iPad Air, Sarah Greenland, from Local 60052 in New Brunswick, won an iPhone 13 and Chantal Sabourin, from Local 10004 in Quebec, won an Apple Watch Series 7. We also sent out 25 pairs of Skullcandy headphones and 25 Forte speakers to winners across the country.

The contest gave us a huge increase in our social media interactions in June with a 2,200 per cent rise in Facebook likes, a 1,300 per cent hike in Instagram followers and the USJE Twitter account saw 1,500 per cent increase in new followers. We also saw a significant rise in subscribers to our newsletter.

On August 15, USJE National President David Neufeld sent a letter to RCMP commanding officers calling for workplace improvements for Detachment Services Assistants across Canada.
