A year ago USGE informed our members about CSC’s plan to meet its cost savings by restructuring the way our members feed federal offenders. The implementation of the “cook/chill program” was one that would see our members not offered any salary protection. This was a never-before-seen interpretation of the Work Force Adjustment Appendix and our bargaining agent, the PSAC, agreed with our interpretation.
A policy grievance was filed and we have now been informed that a hearing at the Public Service Labour Relations Board (PSLRB) is scheduled for October 15, 2014.
