Last Saturday, April 29, USGE members participated in the Phoenix mobilization day. They visited Liberal MPs from all regions of Quebec and demonstrations took place in nine different cities across the province. The demonstration in Laval took place in front of the office of Angelo Iacono, MP, and had more than 200 people present, most of them USGE members.
The purpose of the rallies was to send a clear message to the government that it is time to settle the pay problems caused by the Phoenix system. As one member said it is unacceptable and unbelievable that this situation exists in 2017. Through these rallies USGE members were an excellent example of solidarity in denouncing the failures of the federal government pay system. Phoenix: enough is enough!
