Update regarding the USJE Public Safety Awards on Parliament Hill

Please note that nominations have been extended until December 2, 2022!

As previously announced, USJE is launching its first ever National Public Safety Awards to recognize and celebrate the outstanding work undertaken by our members across 18 departments and agencies. Protecting the safety of Canadians and ensuring their access to justice is at the heart of what USJE members do. The time has come to shine a light on this work through a series of national awards that will be given out in Ottawa next spring.

Too often, the crucial work of USJE members happens behind the scenes, out of sight of many Canadians who depend on the commitment and dedication of federal public safety and justice employees to keep them safe. At this award ceremony, six members from across the country will take centre stage in Ottawa to represent our union and the hard work our members accomplish.

USJE is turning to the membership to help make the launch of these National Public Safety Awards a resounding success. We encourage you to think about nominating a colleague whose years of service and commitment amid challenging work conditions stand out to you and others. This is the moment to express your gratitude and your admiration.

As this is the first instalment of this event, it has been decided to extend the nomination period until December 2nd to allow members across Canada to nominate a colleague. If you know a story that deserves to be celebrated, do not hesitate to tell it.

Please visit the USJE website and complete the short nomination form

Requirements: The members who will be considered for the award need to be willing to travel to Ottawa to participate in the National Award Ceremony held on Parliament Hill in the last two weeks of March 2023 (final date to be established).
