USJE donates $5,000 to Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Assistance Program on Jersey Day

The National Executive of the Union of Safety and Justice Employees unanimously approved a donation in the amount of $5,000 to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Assistance Program. USJE’s National Executive also expresses its deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the tragic accident on April 6th in Saskatchewan.

The Assistance Program was established by the league to provide mental health assistance and counselling for all players of the SJHL in the accident’s aftermath. Extra funds raised will be used to build an education plan that will be created in memory of the lives lost.

“We have all been deeply moved by this terrible accident, especially our members in Saskatchewan” said USJE National President Stan Stapleton. “With this donation, our National Executive members are pleased to be able to provide some help to the families and communities that have been affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.”

USJE would also like to recognize and thank USJE Locals that have raised and donated funds to the SJHL’s Assistance Program.

If USJE members or Locals would like to make individual donations, please send cheques directly to the SJHL:
