As it now clear, the Carney Liberal Government will cut at least another 30,000 jobs in the federal public service. This not only means job losses, it means a potential reduction in the important public services people in Canada rely on, as well as ripple effects like economic impacts for local communities.
But, as a public service union, we are all too familiar with the fallout from cuts to public service. Instead, we want to address how we can support workers who will face layoffs and what supports may be available to them.
