More than 50 PSAC members from across Atlantic Canada gathered in Halifax from March 20th to March 22nd for the PSAC 2026 Atlantic Union School — a weekend focused on strengthening solidarity and “Fighting for Justice.” Workshops included: Lobbying, Why Tyranny, Fascism and Authoritarianism are Union Issues, and Engaging our Base: Using Communications to Build our Movement.
USJE was proudly represented by three members:

The Workshops began on Friday, March 20th with a Smudging Ceremony and remarks from REVP Chris Di Liberatore and PSAC National President Sharon DeSousa. Participants also took part in a Fighting for Justice rally and a lobbying workshop.
On Saturday, discussions focused on the broader role unions play in addressing issues such as authoritarianism and social justice, reinforcing the importance of collective action.
The final day highlighted effective communication strategies, including letter writing and outreach, equipping participants with tools to strengthen engagement and build the union movement.
