On April 29, 2026, newly appointed CSC Commissioner Talal Dakalbab joined Regional Deputy Commissioner Johanne Charest and Acting District Director Jesse Welner at the Moncton Parole Office to meet with staff. Commissioner Dakalbab listened to the members’ concerns about recruitment, workload, work-life balance, workplace culture, and diversity and inclusion. The Commissioner shared his vision for CSC and its 21,000 employees with enthusiasm, taking the time to meet and speak with staff individually before the group meeting.
RVP Osborne thanked the Commissioner for his time, acknowledging that it is not usual practice for Deputy Heads to invite the union during their site visits. This new approach is greatly appreciated by USJE and clearly demonstrates an interest and respect for union partners and their members.
RVP Osborne also took the opportunity to speak with members during the visit, who expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s visit. Members felt he was engaging and genuine.
