Yesterday, members of the USJE National Executive and Alex Creamer, Local President and member of the PA Group negotiating team, joined the gathering organized by the Government Services Union in front of the Metcalfe Hotel in Ottawa.
The goal of this mobilization was to demonstrate members’ solidarity with the negotiating teams currently at the table, especially the PA Group team, which is in the midst of a mediation process.
In addition to participating in the demonstration, USJE hosted lunch for members of the PA bargaining team as negotiations continued this week. During the gathering, National President David Neufeld thanked the team for their dedication and commitment to securing a fair collective agreement and offered words of encouragement as they continue their important work on behalf of members.
By joining the event, USJE representatives affirmed the importance of supporting the negotiators working to arrive at a fair and equitable collective agreement for members.
This was also an opportunity for participants to emphasize the importance of union solidarity, which remains one of the most powerful tools in the hands of workers in pursuit of their demands. Together, members sent a clear message of support for the negotiating teams and for their efforts to advance the interests of workers.
