It’s been a rough week for our friend, and colleague, Diane Leduc-Doran, who needs a new liver now. We are searching for a live liver donor who is prepared to give the gift of life.
Last week while preparing to go to Civic Hospital for paracentesis (draining fluid from abdomen) Diane fainted and hit her face. Her husband, James, found her on the floor conscious and dove her immediately to the hospital.
There were a number of other complications and hospital visits this week too. All of these complications will disappear when/if she gets a new liver. We are all hoping and praying that it comes in time.
If anyone reading this would consider becoming a living donor for Diane, and are:
- Blood Type O
- Age 18-60
- In good health
- Willing to give freely
please see: www.uhn.ca/MOT/Living_Donor_Program or contact the Living Donor Office at the Toronto General Hospital ASAP at 416-340-4800 Ext 6581.
Since 1999, over 700 living liver donor transplants have been performed at the University Health Network. All donors have returned to their regular lifestyle with no restrictions.
If you’d like updates on Diane’s health or if you’d like to communicate with her, please like her Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/diane.leducdoran
Update – Monday November 20th – Diane has taken a turn for the worse, her husband asks for prayers for Diane and her family. A live liver donor is still required urgently.
