USJE was delighted by the strong interest shown by members from every region of the country in serving on the National Equity Committee. The high level of engagement from Coast to Coast to Coast highlights the importance that equity issues continue to hold for USJE members and reflects a firm resolve to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout our union.
In selecting committee members, USJE carefully considered regional and linguistic representation, while also ensuring that a wide range of equity-deserving groups would have a voice at the table.
The National Equity Committee will consist of eight members from across Canada, in addition to the committee Chair and Co-Chair. Alternate members were also selected to help ensure the committee remains fully engaged and able to carry out its work effectively throughout its mandate.
