Members from the Quebec Region came together in Montreal on November 20-21 to close out USJE’s series of regional Bargaining Training conferences this fall. An efficient group of participants attending, including the National President David Neufeld, Regional Vice President Annie Blanchette, and USJE staff marked the success of the training session and lunchtime show of solidarity.
USJE Director of Labour Relations, Melanie Crescenzi, opened the training with an introduction to the bargaining process. PSAC regional representative, Patrick LeBlanc, then delved into the intricacies of the process, teaching participants how to craft and prioritize critical bargaining demands.
The participants then took a short bus ride to Canada Post to demonstrate support to members of hte Canadian Union of Postal Workers who have been on strike since Nov. 15, 2024.
For the afternoon and into the following morning, participants continued to review, submit and motivate on bargaining demands.
Lastly, to ensure strong representation for USJE members at the upcoming PSAC National Bargaining Conference, elections were held to select delegates and alternates to attend in February 2025. Quebec elected 3 delegates and 3 alternates:
SV: Geneviève Courcy and Patrick Tétrault as alternate.
PA: Marie-Pier Tremblay and Isabelle Verville. Alternates : Marie-Pier Spellman and Melissa Nolin.
We extend our gratitude to all participants, PSAC representatives, and USJE staff for their contributions to the entire series of regional Bargaining Training sessions this fall. The PSAC National Bargaining Conference takes place February 19-23, 2025 in Montreal.
