Novembre 19 – National President David Neufeld, accompanied by RVP Annie Blanchette, the Communications team and a representative of the Local, Maryse Louhis, had an opportunity to visit several sectors of the RCMP headquarters in Westmount.
The visit, organized in cooperation with the head of C Division’s Labour Relations team, Erika Lacasse-Courchesne, allowed USJE representatives to meet members working in eight sectors:
- Division garage
- Human resources development and renewal office
- Mixed organized crime investigation unit
- Integrated national security team
- Electronic major investigations management – electronic management of serious cases
- Division criminal information department – Open sources unit
- Criminal information exchange group
- Integrated Money Laundering Investigative Team
The main purpose of the visit was to tell members of C Division about USJE’s national campaign “Serving Together”, which promotes the wide variety of professional roles within the RCMP played by unionized members. This campaign, supported by Commissioner Mike Duheme, is one of the largest public communication efforts ever rolled out by USJE to inform Canadians about the complex structure of the federal police force and the many crucial technical support roles filled by members of the federal public service.
The visit was an opportunity for the representative of the Local, Maryse Louhis, to meet members directly in the sector where they work.
The USJE representatives want to express their sincerest thanks to the Human Relations team for organizing this visit, which opened the doors to HQ sectors that are seldom accessible.
