PSAC-TB National Bargaining Conference concludes on Sunday

The PSAC-TB National Bargaining Conference concluded on Sunday.  Prior to closing, the PA members completed their election process and elected 3 “at large” delegates and 5 alternates.

We wish to congratulate USJE members Alex Creamer and Julie Nelson who were elected to the PA Bargaining Team as well as Shannon Boudreau who was elected as the 4th alternate.

This week’s election results are an extremely positive result for our USJE membership and would not have been possible without the support of the entire USJE delegation, observers, the members of the USJE Collective Bargaining Strategy Committee, all members of the National Executive and the Directors and staff at USJE National Office.

Much time and effort were expended by all in preparation for this conference and at the conference itself in Montreal.  The goal established at the onset of the process was to go into this conference as “one team”, understanding that there was a detailed plan developed to support our USJE candidates and bargaining demands.  Without a team mentality, these results would not have been achieved.

USJE’s approach to this bargaining conference was much different than any previous round.  The approach provided an opportunity for the delegates to the PSAC-TB National Bargaining Conference to decide amongst themselves who our union’s primary candidates would be to get onto the four bargaining teams.  This was done following our Regional Bargaining Conferences and Trainings, during a virtual call on November 28th, 2025, through an electoral process.  This internal process has ensured that USJE was able to come to the conference prepared with campaign teams set up to support each candidate.

There is still much work to be done by the USJE Collective Bargaining Strategy Committee in the months ahead and to support our union’s goal to be prepared for the next round of bargaining.

Much has been learned through the last round of collective bargaining and the National General strike of 2023.  USJE endeavors to be a leader in this next round of bargaining and to gain the confidence of our membership so that we can take on this fight together for the collective interests of our members.

USJE is proud to have surpassed our initial goals for this conference and wishes to congratulate all USJE members who got elected this week.
