USGE at the Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial

On Sunday, September 25, USGE staff and National Executive attended the Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial to honour and remember the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

The Memorial Service is held every year to keep the memory of these brave women and men alive, and to ensure that the magnitude of their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

In 1978, the first Memorial honoured 14 officers. In 2008, the names of over 742 officers were engraved on the Honour Roll along with the perimeter wall on Parliament Hill, overlooking the Ottawa River and the Supreme Court of Canada.

USGE was proud to be part of the thousands of individuals who honoured the lives of these exceptional women and men.
