On September 10, USJE members across the country mobilized to demonstrate their support for the bargaining team members and to send a clear message to the employer: enough is enough.
From Renous to Surrey, USJE members, along with their Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) gathered at workplaces in every region to highlight the importance of achieving a fair collective agreement for federal public service workers.
After more than a year at the bargaining table, Treasury Board continues to stonewall workers on key issues, including wages, job security and remote work. The employers’ wage proposal of less than one percent per year fails to recognize the invaluable contributions made by federal public service workers every day. Meanwhile, MPs received pay raises this year ranging from $7,900 and $15,800!
This mobilization comes at a time when many members are facing uncertainty about the future of their workplaces. Concerns about staffing levels, workload pressures, workplace flexibility, and economic affordability continue to resonate across the public service. Today’s events provided an opportunity for members to connect with colleagues, learn more about the bargaining process, and visibly demonstrate their support for the union’s negotiating efforts.

Prairies:

- RCMP Saskatchewan Headquarters (F Division) (Regina, SK): RVPs Heather McKinnon and Shauna Ward
- Calgary Urban Area Parole Office (Calgary, AB): Local President and member of the PA bargaining team Alex Creamer
Atlantic:
- Atlantic Institution (Renous, NB): RVPs Laurie Ann Wesselby and Carol Osborne
Pacific:
- RCMP Pacific Region Headquarters (E Division) (Surrey, BC): RVPs Kirsty Havard and Zoe Johnston
Quebec:
- Drummond Institution (Drummondville, QC): RVPs Annie Blanchette and Patrick Ménard
Ontario:

The nationwide participation demonstrated the strength of member engagement and the shared commitment to securing an agreement that reflects the contributions of federal public safety personnel. As bargaining continues, these actions serve as an important reminder that members stand firmly behind their bargaining teams.
