On June 25, Regional Vice President Carol Osborne and Local President Jason Zambo undertook their annual visit to the Windsor Parole Office to meet with members of Local 00056.
RVP Osborne welcomed new members to USJE and CSC and was reacquainted with members she had previously met.
In the past, employees hoping to work in other areas of the country often began their careers working in the Windsor office. Once they became indeterminate, they would then request a transfer so they could work closer to home. This created a lot of instability for USJE members working at the Windsor Parole Office.
Local President Zambo along with other USJE members spoke about this instability with management and advocated for management to hire a full staff complement to ensure that USJE members’ workloads would be more manageable. Local 00056’s work has been successful. The Windsor Parole Office is now fully staffed with a predominantly local staff. Workplace stability is always important for the health, safety and wellbeing of USJE members.
During this recent visit, RVP Osborne and President Zambo spoke about this round of bargaining. They informed members that proposals from the employer and union are now posted on the PSAC website. Members are encouraged to review them.
To close out the visit, RVP Osborne thanked members for taking the time to connect with their union.
