Local USJE reps meet with members during Millhaven Wellness Resource Fair

On October 30, 2025, USJE local representatives from Millhaven Institution and Regional Treatment Centre (RTC) met with members during the Millhaven Wellness Resource Fair held at Millhaven Institution. The event brought together staff and wellness partners to share resources and promote open dialogue about mental health with those working inside Canada’s maximum-security prisons.

Throughout the day, USJE local representatives talked with members about wellness initiatives, resources, and highlighted the importance of maintaining balance and resilience in demanding work environments. During the fair, participants were able to access resources from wellness partners such as the Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT), which covered sleep hygiene, stress management, and suicide awareness and prevention; and PSPNET which has accessible online cognitive behavioural therapy services.

The event highlighted the importance of proactively equipping public service employees with the tools and support they need to protect their mental health and normalize asking for help when it’s needed.

USJE local representatives Dani Woods, Jackson Croft and Elyssa Bray would like to thank all members and participants for their open and thoughtful conversations throughout the event.
