MAI and Parole Officer Supervisors raise new concerns

There have been more questions raised with the recent integration of CSC Managers, Assessment and Interventions (MAI) and Parole Officer Supervisors into USGE. Our newest members are, understandably, upset that they are now seeing union dues being deducted from their cheques, retroactive to March 1, 2014.

The decision for this was not one made by USGE or CSC, but rather by the Public Service Labour Relations Board itself, according to the Public Service Labour Relations Act (PSLRA). As USGE has explained in our FAQ on the CSC exclusions (Q.8), the date was chosen by the PSLRB and that the onus on informing those members rested with the employer, CSC.

We understand and share the frustration that our new members are feeling. We simply ask for your patience and understanding during this transition time.
