Mandate Letters to Ministers available

For the first time in Canada’s history, the mandate letters given to Cabinet Ministers by the Prime Minister have been made publicly available for all Canadians to read. Mandate letters outline the priorities that the Prime Minister expects each Minister to tackle during their term in government.  

Making these letters available to the public is part of the newly elected federal government’s commitment to be more transparent in their dealings with the public service — and Canadians generally.
