This past week, newly elected National Vice President Lynette Robinson and National President David Neufeld had the opportunity to meet senior representatives from Commissioner Brenda Lucki’s office. They discussed the transition to return to work protocols that prioritize public health – and are fair and transparent for all RCMP employees. Our members continue to adapt as they work through these difficult times and we must ensure they have a healthy and safe workplace.
USJE was pleased to learn about the RCMP’s efforts to pilot comprehensive training for Detachment Services Assistants in 2022 – a key outcome of USJE’s DSA Roundtable in November 2019.
We look forward to future dialogue with the RCMP on improving access to mental health supports for all public service employees and ensuring a culture free of harassment that is inclusive of everyone. We also stressed the importance of changing the workplace culture to ensure that public service workers are respected.
