Passing of Danielle Belleau

It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Danielle Belleau (retired RVP for NCR, USJE) on Friday, February 28th, 2020.

Danielle always had a sparkle in her eye and a laugh on her lips. She will be missed.

On behalf of USJE, we would like to offer our sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Danielle’s obituary from Harmonia:

The morning of February 28, 2020, looked to be sunny. Mom (Suzanne Séguin), Dad (Roland Belleau), my sister (Nathalie Belleau), my father’s wife (Ginette Létang), my late husband’s children (Chadwick and Julie Durocher) and my BFF (Christine-Lindsay Chrétien) were all with me.

That’s when my sister whispered in my ear that she would take care of everything, of our parents, that I had had enough suffering and that if I was ready, I could go. I wasn’t going to risk her changing her mind. So it was surrounded by all their love and filled with confidence that I went to join the man of my life, Gilles Durocher. He must have been looking forward to seeing me.

I’m leaving quite a few people behind. My grandchildren: Joshua, Abigail, Emma, Breanne, Lindsay and Nathan. My Texan Son-in-law, Jim Komkov, and my daughter-in-law and best dessert maker, Lindsay Stephenson. Ginette’s children: Sylvie and Stéphane Létang. My brother-in-law, André Durocher (Linda Durocher) and my sister-in-law, Nicole Durocher. Let’s add all my nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, colleagues from the Correctional Service of Canada and my allies and advocates from the USJE (PSAC/AFPC).

To you, John Edmunds, my brother from another mother, love you Senior.

I must thank Dr. Dominique Fréchette and the oncology team at the CISSO-Gatineau Hospital. We didn’t win this one, but we worked hard. Team work, you’re the best!!

By the way, my sister has gotten it into her head to throw a big party next May to celebrate my life. She’ll fill you in on the details later. She says there’s gonna be bacon.

Well, I gotta go. Gilles is waiting for me to go pick up some cheese in St. Albert.

I love you all very much!
