As part of USJE’s ongoing efforts to showcase the work of USJE’s members at the RCMP, who are the operational backbone of the national policing agency, President Neufeld, RVP Heather McKinnon and members of the USJE Communications Team met with members in Saskatoon on March 12.
The first stop of the visit consisted of a tour of the Regional Headquarters at Brand Place. The USJE team met with employees in the transcribing unit, major crime, high-risk offenders unit, and restorative justice and had a meeting with Staff Sergeant Brian Udey.
For the afternoon, the team visited a local detachment situated in Rosthern, SK. The two DSAs welcomed the USJE team with a tour, and explained their roles supporting members in uniform and the local community.
At both sites, USJE leadership took the opportunity to discuss telework arrangements and share appreciation for the contributions to public safety made by our members. Leadership also mentioned the upcoming town halls for Civilian Members, which will be held on April 17 and 18. Registration links will become available shortly.
USJE would like to thank the six members in Saskatoon, and the two Rosthern DSAs who came forward and agreed to interviews that will be part of USJE’s national RCMP campaign. Approved by the RCMP’s National Labour Relations team, the campaign aims to bring awareness about the unique roles and work done by our members. RCMP public service employees and CMs can participate by reaching out to the USJE Communications team at USJEcommunicationSESJ@psac-afpc.com.
