On Wednesday, August 24th, National President David Neufeld, alongside USJE Regional Vice-President Heather McKinnon, visited the Public Prosecution Service of Canada office in Winnipeg. The visit provided an opportunity for all USJE members at the PPSC office to meet with their Regional Vice-President, the National President for USJE and Local President, Angie Sheard.
Court Administrative Services members discuss their work, the new normal and other issues with National President
On August 12, USJE National President David Neufeld and Regional Vice-President–NCR Jean-Paul Surette met with front-line members at the Court Administrative Services (CAS) in Toronto to discuss their important work in the courts system across Canada. The tour was facilitated by USJE Local 70125 President, Jena Russell.

On August 15-16, National President David Neufeld and Regional Vice-President Kirsty Havard, accompanied NDP Member of Parliament, Alistair MacGregor (Cowichan-Malahat-Langford) and Liberal Member of Parliament, Taleeb Noormohamed (Vancouver Granville), on visits to Mountain Institution (medium security) and Kent Institution (maximum security) located in Agassiz, British Columbia. MacGregor and Noormohamed both sit on the House Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security.

DSAs deserve to feel safe and supported at work—Letter to RCMP commanding officers
As the national public service union representing Detachment Services Assistants across the country, we are keen to work with the RCMP to ensure DSAs feel safe and supported in their workplaces. We also recognize that DSAs are vulnerable to trauma by virtue of how they interface with the public and their role in supporting Members who go out into the field.
