President Neufeld Meets with RCMP Commissioner on Pressing USJE Issues

On March 7th, National President David Neufeld met with RCMP Commissioner Mike Duheme as part of the RCMP’s regularly scheduled National Labour Management Meeting. Mr. Neufeld seized the opportunity to highlight a number of issues that are of high importance to USJE’s members.

Once every three years, USJE turns to Local executives with a call out for nominations for the Exemplary Service Award and Human Rights Award. This is an open call, the deadline for nominations is April 26, 2024.

Joint Learning Program

The JLP has officially re-launched its in-person workshops, which are once again available to federal public service employees. The workshops are free of charge and explore themes aimed at improving culture and behaviours in the workplace. Titles include:

  • Mental health in the Workplace
  • Respecting Differences/Anti-discrimination
  • Labour-Management Consultation
  • Understanding the Collective Agreement
  • Preventing Harassment and Violence in the Workplace

NPF Strike: Motion of Solidarity

During the February 28 meeting of the Standing Committee on National Defence, Lindsay Mathyssen, MP for London—Fanshawe, expressed solidarity with striking Non-Public Funds workers and called on Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services to bargain in good faith.
