PSAC President Robyn Benson calls for fair treatment of CMs from Treasury Board

Robyn Benson, National President of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), on behalf of PSAC and its component, the Union of Solicitor General Employees (USGE), sent a letter to the President of the Treasury Board, Minister Scott Brison, to raise concerns regarding fair treatment for the RCMP civilian members who will become part of the federal public service.

Why are Civilian Members of the RCMP not receiving a salary increase?

On April 5, 2017, the RCMP Commissioner broadcast information confirming a Treasury Board approved pay package that will be provided only to regular members of the RCMP, and not to civilian members. It is PSAC/USGE’s position that RCMP civilian members should also receive their long expected pay package, without delay, and that the rationale that has been provided by the employer for withholding it is not defensible.

TC, PA, EB and SV members: It’s time for you to vote!

PSAC’s tentative agreements with Treasury Board covering the TC, SV, PA and EB bargaining units will only take effect if they are ratified in a vote by the members. These tentative agreements cover workers from coast to coast to coast. Hundreds of ratification meetings, which include information sessions, will take place across the country up until April 13.
